The Alabama National Guard OCP Patch with Hook Fastener is a standardized piece of military insignia designed for wear on the Army's Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) uniform. Manufactured to meet official military specifications, it utilizes the authorized Bagby Green color palette dictated by The Institute of Heraldry (TIOH). The backing features a durable hook fastener, enabling quick, secure attachment and removal from the uniform's loop reception fields.
The Visual Symbols and Heraldry:
Blooming Cotton Plant: The central design features a blooming cotton plant, symbolizing the rich agricultural and economic history of the state of Alabama.
Twisted Wreath OCP: For OCP uniform specifications, the patch transitions from full color to muted military-grade tones utilizing Bagby Green thread/background specifications mandated by TIOH. In traditional heraldry, this represents a twist of cloth used beneath a knight's crest.
The Circular Disc: The entire crest is bound inside a clean circle, signifying unity and continuous readiness under the National Guard's organizational umbrella.
