US Army 1st Cavalry Regiment Unit Crest (Each)

The 1st Cavalry Regiment was organized in 1832 to take part in the Black Hawk War. Name was changed to 1st Cavalry in 1861. The motto "Animo Et Fide" is taken from the old 1836 Dragoons belt plate.
